HEADSPACE & TIMING
how you are – Be connected with the present.
Keep Learning: Don't be afraid to try something new
and different – keep your interest in life by identifying
new challenges and goals and planning to achieve
them.
Give: Giving comes in all shapes and sizes and is
good for everyone! Smile at people more and try to
say encouraging and positive things – Look around for
opportunities to help people in local groups or societies
– helping others genuinely helps us too.
Before I finish I should point to the resources available
within the Defence Forces for any of us who are
feeling under pressure or a bit overwhelmed. You can
always contact the Personnel Support Service either at
PSS@military.ie or by talking to your local PSS team.
The INSPIRE confidential counselling service remains
available to all serving personnel and to adult family
members at 1800 409 673. If you are serving overseas
you can contact INSPIRE by calling 00-353-1-685-6816.
So there it is! Just a few very simple measures that
might help all of us to negotiate our way back into
normality with as much comfort as possible and with
peace of mind. Remember, if you aren't feeling well, or
are finding things just a little tough, then please reach
out and get some help. You can do this by simply
opening up to a trusted friend – We are all having our
own issues and nobody needs to go it alone!
