10 TU DUBLIN CPD PROGR AMME DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATES IN SAFET Y MANAGEMENT TU (TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY) DUBLIN CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) PROGRAMME DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATES IN SAFETY MANAGEMENT LEVEL 7 By Comdt Colin Roche To take up the role as a Health and Safety professional in the modern Defence Forces, it's vital to acquire the skills necessary, to understand the impact of health and safety decisions on the work- place and everyone connected to it. This programme is designed to help students to acquire those skills or to broaden their existing skillset with a flexible path to CPD Certification in any or all, of the modules offered. It also offers the option to study all the way to the new Level 7 Diploma, in Risk and Safety Management. The idea is that the courses offer a practical, vocationally orientated and pro- fessionally integrated approach to managing occupational health and safety. Comdt. Colin Roche developed all the course material. All the courses where validated and accredited by TU Dublin, in order to provide members of the Defence Forces with certification in safety management training in a variety of safety management disciplines. Comdt. Roche had TU Dublin agree, that when a student completed 8 of the courses, they could apply for a higher level award of a CPD Diploma, level 7, in Risk and Safety Management.
