17 EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION GORMANSTON CAMP these units get a new lease of life through the hands of our highly skilled electricians demonstrated the versatility of our team". The camp remained ready yet idle until the call came from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEIDY) to commence planning for the first intake of BOTPs on July 19th. And so began the next phase of the operation. 27 Inf Bn in conjunction with TISK devised a command and control (C2) and logistics framework to support the operation. With staff rostered around the clock to deal with a full gambit of supporting and reporting functions as would be expected in such a complex and sensitive ATCA operation. BQMS Kerr (27 Inf Bn) is at the forefront of the logistics chain ensuring Lt Potts BQMS Kerr Aerial View of EARC Gormanston Camp that this impressive facility remains in pristine condition for BOTPs passing through our gates; "The maintenance and upkeep of the facility is my primary concern. 27Bn and TISK are at the coalface, ensuring that everything from generators remaining fuelled, to refuse and waste collection is carried out, thus ensuring the needs of our guests are consistently met. We work closely with the state agencies, our contracted partners and indeed 'on-call' engineers for ALL matters of real- life support". The experience has been challenging yet extremely rewarding". The EARC has been steadily moving towards hosting its full listed capacity of 320pax. Moving from an initial operating model of three (3) days occupancy a week to a full 24/7 occupancy has been a challenge ably surmounted by the personnel of the Defence Forces. The experiences gained overseas by our personnel on demanding deployments are central to this. As indeed with previous operations conducted during Operation FORTITUDE, the dedication and professionalism displayed by our personnel has been outstanding. Working side by side with DCEIDY and TTM Healthcare to provide a 'home from home' for Ukraine's most vulnerable citizens is a source of great pride for all involved. 2 Brigade remains poised and ready to provide ongoing support as Operation Failte prepares to continue into the winter months.
