estled in the heart of the Curragh Camp, the Curragh
Family Resource Centre (CFRC) has long been a
cornerstone of support for families, individuals, and
young people. Rooted in compassion and community spirit,
the Centre provides vital services across four main pillars:
Therapeutic Support, Family Support, Youth Resilience,
and Community Engagement. Defence Forces families are
prioritised in all areas of our work, recognising the unique
challenges and strengths that come with military life. All our
services, supports, and groups are provided free of charge and
fully private and confidential.
What makes CFRC unique is not only our holistic approach to
wellbeing, but also our enduring relationship with the Defence
Forces Training Centre (DFTC). This partnership, through
mentoring, fundraising, and community collaboration has ensured
that the Centre continues to thrive, adapt, and meet the evolving
needs of those it serves. Although we are based in the Curragh
Camp, we are open to all member of the Defence Forces and their
families.
The Therapeutic Pillar: A Safe Space for Reflection
and Renewal
At the core of CFRC's mission is the belief that everyone deserves
access to safe, professional, and confidential therapeutic support.
Life can bring unique challenges, from the stresses of life to the
everyday struggles faced by families everywhere.
The Centre offers one-to-one systemic therapeutic sessions, child
and adolescent therapy, and a range of therapeutic interventions
tailored to children, young people, and adults. These services
provide a space where individuals can explore their feelings,
develop coping strategies, and begin to rebuild confidence.
As one member of the therapeutic team reflects:
"Sometimes the bravest step someone can take is the first
contact with us. From that moment, we can begin working
together to find hope and healing."
