this year's Review attracted articles covering topics such
as decentralising joint operations centres, coaching and
mentoring for leaders, wargaming for urban operations,
decision-making in the age of mosaic warfare, and leading
and educating Generation Z in the post-truth environment.
To select from the large volume of submissions, the Defence
Forces collaborated with Dublin City University to edit
and publish eleven excellent articles. The 2025 edition
was edited by the Army's Lt Col Gavin Egerton and Comdt
Kenneth O'Rourke in close collaboration with DCU's Dr Ken
McDonagh and Dr Eleanor Leah Williams. A thoroughly
enjoyable event was held recently at DCU's Business School
to launch the review, during which many of the contributors
presented their papers to a diverse audience of military
and academic leaders and students, who then engaged in
panel discussions. The audience was also addressed by Maj
Gen (retd) Michael Beary DSM, who delivered the keynote
speech.
There were two themed panels where some of the
contributors presented on their articles:
