Defence Forces
Pensions Update
The DoD are now in the process of
moving all Defence Forces pensions
back to end-of-month (instead of
the 20th). This will help optimise
payroll processes while also reducing payroll administration costs in
line with the Public Service Reform
Plan. The move is scheduled to commence in November 2013 and will be
phased in over 6 months to conclude in April 2014. Proposed dates,
which are subject to payroll operational considerations, are
as follows:

NOTE: Where someone currently has direct
debits / standing orders for mortgage
repayments, household bills (electricity,
insurance, phone etc) organised around the
20th, may wish to make revised arrangements with their bank/building society and
service providers. This is of course a matter
for each pensioner themselves. For more
