Fond Farewell Sgt Major |7 Pictured on his last RDF camp, BSM Tom Walsh, who enlisted in the FCA on 17th March 1968, with A Coy 15 Inf Bn Tralee – as a matter of respect Tom was given a march past by his unit. Tom completed many courses at all levels and attained many promotions; Cpl ('71), Sgt ('78), Coy Sgt ('96), BQMS ('97) and BSM in 2012 with 32 Inf Bn. He is currently serving in the 12 Inf Bn after the recent reorganisation. Tom has overseen many and varied changes during his extensive 45 year career. Tom is due to retire in March 2014. Kneeling Gavin Collins and John Murphy won the GPMG competition and finally 14 time rifle veteran winner Ger McCarthy, has won 14 'all army' rifle team medals the most for any soldier since the shield was first presented in 1947. Photo: Denis Boyle ONE Golf Winners On 19th August, at the Curragh Golf Club, The Patrick Sarsfield Branch won the ONE All Ireland Golf Tournament Cassidy Cup for a second year in a row. The team consisted of Ex-servicemen Mr Eddie Kiely Snr, a Congo Veteran, his son Eddie Kiely Jnr, Mr Joe Collopy - Branch Chairman and Mr Brendan Long. On Target Cavalry Club Fr.
