In this issue many of your photos are included in our On Parade gallery. Our In Focus pages feature stories from Fort Dunree Museum in Donegal, the 36th Cadet Class who where the 'First and Original Kennedy Cadets' in Arbour Hill in 1963, and the visit of the University of Washington students who visited the DF recently to hear about our experiences on peace-support operations. In one of our main features we hear about the members of the National Stores Reception Centre (NSRC), or who are better known as 'MovCon' (Movement Control) from Wesley Bourke. In our other main feature we receive an update on the UNDOF Mission Deployment from Capt James O'Hara (PIO UNDOF). We have some shorter pieces with the 40th Anniversary of the 27 Inf Bn, the UN Memorial in Letterkenny, the recent PDFORRA ADC in Wexford and finally In Memory of an Aviator Madeleine C O'Rourke (1951–2006), making this a well packed issue. In our Strategic Review, Wesley Bourke updates us on a UN mission the DF have been part of for over 50 years Observer Group Lebanon (OGL). Our In Reserve features the recent RDF Transport Corps Standard Officer and NCOs Course by Cpl Frank Nolan (Res, Tpt Sch, DFTC). In our History pages we have part one of our reprinted feature The Birth of an Army: The Formation of Óglaigh na hÉireann 19131915 by CQMS Gerry White and Lt Col Brendan O'Shea. In Sport we have the results and photos from last month's An Cosantóir 10K Roadrace and a small piece on the recent DF Vs RAF ladies soccer match. Plus our other regular features – World Strategic Picture, Tac-Aide, Gear Review, Noticeboard, Reviews and What I Do. Photo: A/S David Jones (NS) The Air Corps and Retd Air Corps cyclists cycled from Mizen to Malin in July this year and raised €15,500 for LARCC (Lakelands Area Retreat & Cancer Centre) in Multyfarnham, Mullingar. The group pictured cycled from Baldonnel to Multyfarnham on Friday 18th of October to present the cheque. They are: Lt Col James Lynnott (OC No 1 Ops Wing and chairperson of the Irish Air Corps Cycling Association) and Mr Frank Russell (Comdt Retd, and director of LARCC) with some of the LARCC volunteer staff and Air Corps cyclists both retired and serving.
