Our role is much different now, and more difficult, but Irish people are resilient by nature and Irish soldiers have brought that re- silience to many war zones over the past 53 years. Our soldiers are renowned in the UN com- munity for their exemplary and courageous conduct in carrying out dangerous and challenging UN peacekeeping duties. It is the very reason we have been invited back here.
