Your Defence Forces Newsletter DF Sea Angling Competitions Syria A new observer mission has begun in Syria with six Irish officers who are part of a larger intended force of 300. The United Nations Supervision Mission in Syria (UNSMIS) has been established for an initial period of 90 days and it is tasked with monitoring a cessation of armed violence "in all its forms by all parties". The basis for the monitoring is Kofi Annan's six point plan for stabilising the country by "chang- ing the political dynamics on the ground." Interested in Sea Angling? The following competitions are a great way to get involved in the sport: DF Boat Angling Competition is being held in the Southern Brigade: 15,16 and 17 July, boats leaving from Cobh, Co Cork. the Wicklow area: 15,16 and 17 August.
