The Military History Society of Ireland was founded in 1949, its purpose
is to promote the study of military history, and in particular, the history
of warfare in Ireland and Irishmen in war. The MHSI will hold a winter
series of lectures as follows:
Friday 4th november: "Nothing venture nothing have" Art
MacMurchadha Caomhanach at war with Richard II, 1394 and 1399 by Dr
Darren McGettigan
Friday 2nd December: The Easter Rising and the beginnings of Modern
Irregular Warfare by Prof Timothy D. Hoyt
Friday 13th January 2017: "Unshaken loyalty": the Catholic Irish Brigade
in British service, 1793-1798 by Dr Ciaran McDonnell
