Developing a Wellness Toolbox
A Wellness Toolbox is:
1. A list of things you have done in the past, or could do,
to help yourself stay well. It can also include physical
items that make you feel good such as a photo, music cd,
or even chocolate.
AND
2. A list of things you could do to help yourself feel better
when you are not well.
Suggestions:
• Talk to a friend / 'peer counselling'
• Talk to a health care professional
• Take prescribed medication
• Take vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements etc .
• Have a good diet
• Limit intake of alcohol & caffeine
• Do regular exercise
• Attend regular activities, groups or classes
• Get plenty of sleep and rest
• Do some relaxation exercises
• Get some natural light every day
• Attend a support group
• Listen to music
• Get some little jobs done
• Have a warm bath
• Do something creative e.g. art work, cookery, sewing,
knitting, photography, playing an instrument or
singing
• Do some writing in a journal or write a letter
to a friend
• Wear something that makes you feel good
