Dr Bielenberg raised the money through the sales of his CD 'Silent Night', in which he tells the story of the Christmas Day truce in 1914. Throughout January 2017, 250 candidates for the Emergency Response Unit were tested in various physical competencies and teamwork as part of the ERU Pre-Selection course. The recruits came from 21 counties across Ireland, including five from Northern Ireland.
