20 | sports round up INTER BRIGADE CAMOGIE COMPETITION T REPORT BY 2/LT EMER KELLY Bde. They competed against 4 W Bde in their second game but despite scores from Capt Louise Conlon and 2/Lt Emer Kelly, the Western Brigade team won comfortably. 2 E Bde then faced DFTC in the Shield Final. This was a much closer fought match with both teams improving on earlier performances, with DFTC running out winners by a narrow margin. The main Cup final saw 1 S Bde take on 4 W Bde in a match that from 1 S Bde, 2 E Bde, 4 W Bde and DFTC competing for the title. In their first match, 2 E Bde lost to a very strong team from 1 S thanked all who had made the day possible. Pte Orlaith Keily (2 E Bde) was presented with an award for the most improved player of the day. displayed a high level of skill and effort. In the end 1 S Bde held out to win the competition for the fourth year in a row. During the presentation ceremony Col Tom Ahern (EO 4 W Bde) his year's annual, inter-brigade, seven-a-side camogie compe- tition was hosted by 4W Bde on Wednesday 29th August 2012. The competition took place in Páirc Chiarán and saw teams Pictured are the West (below) and South (above) ladies Camogie teams from the All Army championships held in Athlone.
