40 Soldiers from the 27 Inf Bn car- rying the Unit Pennant completed a relay marathon from Aiken Bks, Dundalk to Clairmount cairn in 3 man teams. Starting at 0900hrs their route took them through Bellurgan, Jenkinstown, over Long Women's Grave and finally up to the RTE mast on Claremount cairn. Children from the local school at

the runners which was then carried all the way back to St Brigids School. Taking a different route back via Eden Tobber, Old Newry Rd, Dundalk, Castletown Rd. up Echo Rd arriving at the school at 1300hrs, completing the 46km Marathon in 3hrs 58mins. The 40 runners were then piped
into the school by Vinny Murray 27 Inf Bn Piper and cheered and clapped by the children and all present. St Brigids School have been awarded the green flag as part of the Eco Schools Program, and Officer Commanding 27 Inf Bn, Lt Col Mick
