Defence Forces Hurling Inter Brigade Final By Cpl Dave Cullen O n 12th of September in the DFTC, 2 Bde and 3 Inf Bn took to the pitch to battle for the title of DF Inter Brigade champions. As the teams lined out in wet misty conditions the crowd hoped for an entertaining game and both teams delivered playing in a sporting and competitive manner. The match was a tightly fought game with neither side getting more than 4 points ahead of their rivals at any stage. It went down to the last few minutes before the winner was decided, with the 2 Bde snatching victory on a scoreline of 2-18 to 3-13. Electronic Notice Board New SOP's will be issued shortly for the ENB. The SOP's will make the submission of material easier for all personnel in the DF. It will do this by identifying specific appointments in each formation who will be responsible for uploading content in their particular area. There will also be clear guidelines for the management of the system at all levels within the DF. They will be issued over the coming months to formations and will be filtered down to sub-units. Work Based Learning Portfolio A Work Based Learning Portfolio (WBLP) has been issued for all post 2012 entrants. The WBLP is for individuals wishing to be considered for the award of the Higher Certificate in Leadership, Management and Defence Studies. As institutes, like IT Carlow, move towards blended learning methods, the WBLP captures all our experiential learning in the DF by being split into a number of parts. The Generic Army Version covers lessons that most DF entrants will complete between 3-star training and PNCO course, while the Corps Specific Supplements capture experiential learning within their specific Corps. WBLPs have been distributed to all units and it is the responsibility of the individual to complete the WBLP, more details available on the J7 website: http://defnet/ training/ddft/registrar/index.html
