NordiC BAttle Group 2015 A DF ISTAR Task Force is on 'Stand-By' since 01 January for a period of six months, as part of the Nordic Battlegroup 2015, a key component of the EU's rapid response capability. The Battlegroup can be tasked to any conflict region within a 6000 mile radius of Brussels alongside troops from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Estonia and Lithuania, subject to a political consensus amongst all 28 EU member states. This is the fourth EU Battlegroup that Irish personnel have been involved with and the second Battlegroup that the Irish Defence Forces formed the ISTAR component of. TRANSPORT CORPS YOUNG OFFICERS COURSE INFORMATION Pictured below are the students of the current Transport Corps Young Offi- cers Course. This comprehensive and wide ranging course will be conducted in the Transport School, DFTC from 26 Jan 2015 until 05 June 2015. Seven (7) students from 1 Bde, 2 Bde and the DFTC are undertaking the course. During the 19 week course students will conduct a wide range of training in areas including Motor Vehicle Technology, Basic Recovery, Management Information Framework Ap- plications, Tactical and Movement Training. Students will also undertake the Certificate in Professional Competence in Road Haul- age Operations, which is best practice for transport fleet managers, and a Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road course in addi- tion to the internal Defence Forces Training.
