Retired Sgt Anthony O'Brien is pictured front and centre with young cavalry
troopers from 1 ACS at the An Cosantóir 10K in McKee Bks on the 11th
October 2017. Anthony (60) ran in the first ever 10K in 1980 and subsequent
ones; Anthony retired from the DF in 2003 after 26 years service. Pictured
on his t-shirt is CQMS Jim (Nobby) Clarke, his running partner of many
years. Sadly Nobby passed away last November, and Anthony ran in
memory of his old army friend. "Thank you to the young soldiers who were
proud to get in the photograph; it is a great sign of military comradeship".
